It never seems like the right thing to talk too much about a piece of work, as it is best to let the work speak for itself, on its own terms. I will say, however, that this was a complete exercise in the unconscious, and abandoning oneself to the music. The only thought going in was that the piece had a cinematic quality, and it seemed something with a narrative (not necessarily a linear or coherent one) would fit, as opposed to more abstract imagery. It came about almost on its own, evolving conceptually as we went. Just a small strange object, from another time and life, that truly came alive to this music, with its own inscrutable story. I can't pretend to know exactly what that story is, but it wanted to be told. Our goal was to let the language of the music speak to us without the filter of our brains getting in the way. I hope this result does justice to the music, and that you will enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
