When I first listened to Moby´s "Almost Home", the slowly evolving harmonic beauty fascinated and moved me.
Listening a few more times, I decided to interpret it as a song about individuality and dreams, youth and self-realization, in short: life before death. Together with Rolf Buck, we began casting extraordinary young people who could credibly play emblematic parts while still being themselves. During the long production day everything fell into place: The creativity of styling, hair and make-up, Max Hüttermann`s idea to make this film one long tracking shot and the individual performances of our cast.
