I first met Dale, the female impersonator in this video, when he came dancing up to the firework stand I was working at in Baltimore last summer. He was paying the local kids to follow him around with a camcorder, filming him as he got his groove on around the city, much like he does in this video. He actually has his own YouTube site where he posts these videos, typically to Brittany Spears songs.

When I first heard "Golden Sun", I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate dancing somehow. I thought that having Dale dancing would be a humorous change from the usual "choreographed dancing hot girl" video.

During the shoot, cars going by were either honking their horns in support or shouting out homophobic slurs, which took me by surprise. It's amazing how much controversy can be started by a man in woman's clothing.
