Description:
I've been experimenting with creative commons stock footage for the past year and a half. I love experimenting with this footage because it allows you to communicate ideas in a purely visual language. I originally intended to shoot a video for this project, but my camcorder broke down at the start. Obviously I wasn't very happy but I'm glad I was forced to work with these videos, David Lynch's 'I Know' is very visual in itself and I found using these images allowed me to (I think) really reflective the sound of his music.
I'm not going to try and explain the ideas or stories presented in this video. I worked hard to not create a video that just bombards its audience with seemingly random imagery. Also, I didn't want to just create 'another stock music video'. The images match the pace of the music, as well as reflect it. Creating a sense of narrative within the video was the most difficult part, but it was also the most rewarding. I hope that the results are enjoyable and that ideas in this video speak for themselves.
