'Mixing Up the Medicine' is a short film which explores how society has become so completely submerged in media and how this influences and drives our sub-conscious desires to strive more for a fantasy world than the real one. Johnny's sin city is one that is driven and influenced by films. He is no longer willing or able to accept the potential of his reality but instead tries to escape to the sinful fantasies the city can offer him because they remind him of his favorite sex, drugs and rock'n'roll films. Johnny ignores the negative qualities of this lifestyle because he is completely blinded by the 'cool factor' which is so often created from films. The modern day sin city is one that is completely driven by our submergence in media, advertisements, film, t.v. etc. Everywhere we look we try to see that fantasy world which is so often sold to us and ignore the reality which could expose us to morals, judgment and lost dreams.
